Go Energy Checking Account Changes

You may have received a letter in the mail recently outlining exciting new changes for your Go Energy checking account.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about this account transition.

  • Is my checking account going away?

    No! Your checking account is just getting a new name. Our Basic Checking account is now the Go-To Checking account! The Interest Checking account is now the Spark Checking account! This change is effective October 1st, 2020.

  • What are the perks of my new checking account?

    The Go-To Checking account has no hidden fees or minimum balance, so managing your money is convenient, with you in control.

    The Spark Checking account is designed to reward the modern member with a nice dividend on their account balance.

  • Are there any monthly fees on my new checking account?

    The Go-To Checking account 

    • Has no monthly fees
    • No minimum balance requirement
    • Unlimited transactions of all types

    The Spark Checking account

    • Maintain and use your Visa debit card
    • Receive e-statements
    • Just a monthly direct deposit of $700 or more
    • Write 10 or fewer checks a month
    • $10 Monthly Fee waived by meeting the items above
  • Can I change my checking account type?

    Absolutely! If you feel a different account type better suits your financial needs, we would be happy to make that change for you! Contact us at (470) 514-3000 or visit one of our local branches.

  • What else will this change in my checking account?

    Everything else will remain the same! This transition is designed to be as worry-free for you as possible! The following WILL NOT change:

    • Your account number stays the same
    • Your debit card will remain active
    • Your checks stay the same
    • Your online banking login information stays the same
    • Your Online Bill Pay stays the same
    • Your Zelle information stays the same
    • Your automatic payments and/or transfers will remain active
  • What does it mean if I got two letters?

    Do not panic! It means one of two options: 

    1. You have multiple types of checking accounts that are both being affected.
      • Do you have a Basic Checking and an Interest Checking account? You will now have a Go-To Checking and a Spark Checking account!
      • Do you have a Student Checking and a Spark Checking? You will now have a Go-To Checking and a Spark Checking!

    2. You may get a duplicate letter due to changing account types in the past. Your account will not revert to a previous account type.
      • Previously changed from Interest Checking account to a Basic Checking account? You will now have a Go-To Checking account! Your account information is not changing!
      • Previously changed from Basic Checking to Spark Checking? You still have a Spark Checking account! Your account information is not changing!
